I live in the beautiful city of Miami and yet I still don’t know anything about it. That is how I ended up here, writing this.
I’m that person, that person that complains nonstop about Miami, about the people, about the weather, about the traffic, about anything and everything. These thoughts tend to be directed towards all of Florida in general. We don’t have four seasons here, we barely have days below 80 degrees, and Hollywood has sure done one hell of a job making me want to live in a state where you see leafs change and Christmas is snowy.
Nonetheless, coming to the sad realization that all I’ve done is complain has forced me to take a different approach towards the situation.
Now, if you’re thinking that the approach involves the type of scene in a movie where the protagonist packs her bags and leaves the city in search of adventure, you dear reader, are delusional. I obviously do not have the balls for such a bold move. I have a dog, and a bunch of other excuses that simply will not allow this to work for me.
No, this approach is a tad different, and slightly less dramatic.
I’m starting a project, a project for myself, but hopefully not by myself as I hope anyone will join in this quest.
The quest, dear reader, is to get to know the sunshine state.
By this I mean really get to know her, not just sleep with her, then wake up and pass her right by. No. This means giving her a chance, learn her secrets, learn why she is who she is, and see all she has to offer. Then, I can come to terms with the final verdict: Is it love or are we just incompatible?
This page is to keep myself going, to motivate myself, to get ideas from anyone and anywhere and follow through with it
I’m lost, but maybe I can be lost in the right direction. Maybe, just maybe, doing this will set me in the right path.
I’ve heard that everything starts in the mind, and then it materializes right in front of us. Well, my mind is a world of its own and bringing these thoughts to the light of day might help me clear it. It might just bring change, and I’m a firm believer that all change has its magic.
So join me as I Live Local, Think Tourist and use this as a way to figure out little old Florida, and hopefully in the process, myself too.
Let the quest begin.
