Orlando to Miami Roadtrip

Oh, my! Sunday morning in Orlando, thinking about the drive back to Miami. What to do? What to do? Have no fear, a local tourist is here!

Just kidding. Maybe. Eh, I kinda like the corniness of that opening statement leading up to this itinerary. Moving on…

Here’s what you can do on your drive back home from Orlando, if an idea is what you need, an idea is what you get. It’s only two stops, but it’ll be worth it. Trust me.

First Stop: Hash House a Go Go

Hash House a Go Go Hash House a Go GoHash House a Go Go

Address: 5350 International rive, Orlando FL 32819
Budget: $
Type of Food: Creative American (HUGE PORTIONS)
Rating: 5 Stars
Recommendation: I can’t pick. They’re all delicious. I’ve tried more, but have no pictures. I love this place (mouth waters).
Notes: The portions are bigger than they seem. Those plates are massive, and if you can finish it all, I will hug you. You can take the rest to go and eat it after your next stop. Should be more than enough.

Next: Jonathan Dickson State Park

Here you’re going to go horseback riding. Horseback riding can get pretty pricey, unless you own your own horse, but here it’s pretty affordable since it’s a state park. It’s not open space where you can ride like an adventurous spirit through the wind, it’s a guided tour. But, if you truly enjoy horses, go here. The air feels different and the view is nice. Plus, you really gotta love the energy of horses.

Jonathan Dickson Jonathan Dickson

Address: 16450 S.E. Federal Highway Hobe Sound, FL 33455
Entrance Fee: $6.00 Per Car, 2-8 People.
Things to Do: Canoes, Kayaks, Paddle-boards, motor boats, bicycle rentals, and horseback riding (winter).
Notes: No appointments are taken. The earlier you go the higher odds you have or being able to go horseback riding. They only take out the horses 4 times, more or less, so they don’t get tired. Therefore, head out as soon as you finish at Hash House. Also, call beforehand, as the horses are sent back to Tennessee for the summer months. So, word of advice, go soon!
Horseback Riding Fee: You can pay with cash or card, $25.00+ per person.
Amount of Time: 1 Hour riding. Amount of time in park depends on the activities you chose to do.

This is the simplest thing I could come up with for your way back home, but if you want to add a little more excitement, do as follows. Just make sure you plan your time properly.

First: Lake Eola – Ride the swan boats
Second: Hash House a Go Go
Third: Jonathan Dickson State Park
Fourth: Blowing Rock
Fifth: Home

As always, any feedback you have is more than welcomed! If you leave them in the comments instead of sending them to me directly, everyone can see them. If they have questions, not only will I try to answer them, but so can you! I think that’s what we all need. A little help here and there. So, contribute!

Until next time fellas,
